Landscape Design Services for Landscapes That Improve Over Time

Residential landscaping services, orchard design, and site planning built for real performance in the Pacific Northwest

Designing a landscape comes with real risk. Get it wrong, and you’re stuck with poor layout, failing plants, and years of maintenance trying to fix what should have been right from the start. Most landscapes are installed to look good early, then slowly break down as growth, water, and time expose the flaws.

We approach it differently. Every project starts by reading the site, understanding how water moves, how soil behaves, and how plants will actually grow here over time. From edible landscapes and backyard orchards to vineyard planning, pruning, and site evaluations, each service is built around one goal: create something that works, produces, and improves with age.

The result is a landscape that not only looks right, but feels settled, intentional, and easier to live with year after year. Not a reset every season. Something that becomes more useful, more productive, and more complete over time.

Orchard Design

Backyard orchard design that actually produces. Built on correct spacing, rootstock selection, and long-term canopy control so your trees don’t stall out or collapse after a few seasons.

Landscape Consultation

A professional landscape evaluation that cuts through guesswork. We identify what’s failing, what to keep, and how to move forward with a clear, site-specific plan.

Specialty Landscape Systems

Integrated systems that make a landscape actually work. Xeriscapes, irrigation planning, greenhouses, sensory gardens, and compost systems designed as part of a cohesive structure, not separate add-ons.

Grafting and tree design

One fruit tree can carry more than one variety. Pendragon designs and grafts custom multi-variety fruit trees, adding compatible cultivars to healthy existing trees for more flavor, better pollination, and a longer harvest from the same space.

Not Sure What You Need?

If you’re unsure which direction to take, you’re not alone. Most properties don’t fit neatly into a single category.

A consultation helps identify what’s worth keeping, what needs to change, and how to move forward with a clear plan.

FAQ

Do you install or just design?

We focus on planning and design, with guidance for implementation so everything is built correctly. This gives you a clear plan to follow, whether you do the work yourself or bring in a contractor.

How much does a consultation cost?

We charge a flat rate of $125 USD per hour for consulting and design. Most clients find the value is in avoiding costly mistakes and getting a clear plan that works the first time.

Can this work in my climate?

Designs are built for real site conditions in the Pacific Northwest, including soil, drainage, and seasonal constraints. We also work across North America and Europe, adapting each design to local climates with remote consultation when needed.

Do I need to know what I want before reaching out?

No. Most clients start with uncertainty. The consultation is designed to walk through your site, clarify priorities, and give you a clear path forward.

How we approach design

Every project starts with the site. Water movement, soil conditions, light exposure, and long-term growth patterns all shape the design. Instead of forcing a layout onto the land, we build systems that work with these conditions so the landscape becomes more stable, more productive, and easier to manage over time.
